ABOUT MIKAELA BATISTA
I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2016 with my MA in Art History, Criticism and Theory and I graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2013 with my BS in Visual Arts Education.

As an artist, I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and techniques. I primarily utilize my skills in 2-Dimensional art to reflect fantasy, dreams, and the metamorphosis of objects with women's hair. I am fond of the visual movement of lines and patterns to depict the female image as a powerful motif. In ceramics, I am interested in the tactile manipulation of clay to create functional art pieces that reflect the physical nature of the art form. Overall, art enables me to connect my imaginitive mind to the tangible world; it allows me an opportunity to have a voice through the visual.
